Shakur L. Aabid has been charged with attempted murder in the Sept. 13 incident that landed Hassan Robinson in the hospital fighting for his life, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and Robinson's family.

Surveillance footage shows Robinson walking up to a cell door to get in line with other inmates for a meal, when Aabid stands up from nearby to strike him when he's not looking, Breaking AC reports citing the affidavit.

Aabid continues to punch Robinson in the face, causing him to fall on a bench, court documents say. But Aabid doesn't stop there: He allegedly stomped on his head and face then repositioned his victim, to continue even after Robinson was already unconscious, Breaking AC says citing the affidavit.

The incident is being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
